Textbooks & Phonics Method Used
3-4 years old: Show and Tell
This series introduces young learners to English through simple, engaging stories and visuals. It focuses on building vocabulary and basic sentence structures while encouraging pupils to communicate in English through songs, games, and fun activities. It introduces early writing exercises and foundational phonics, helping young learners develop essential pre-literacy skills.
5-7 years old: Everybody Up
Everybody Up is a comprehensive and lively series that blends phonics, grammar, and vocabulary into exciting, age-appropriate lessons. Through charming stories, colourful illustrations, and interactive activities, this series helps students develop essential language skills, focusing on speaking and listening while building their reading and writing abilities.
8-11 years old: Oxford Discover
For more advanced learners, Oxford Discover introduces a range of topics to expand vocabulary and comprehension. It emphasises critical thinking, communication skills, and exploration of the world, with engaging texts and interactive exercises to help students develop strong English skills across reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
📝Phonics Method:
Read Write Inc. – The Read Write Inc. method is a systematic approach to phonics, helping young learners master the basics of reading and writing in English. Through fun, structured lessons, students learn letter sounds, blending techniques, and how to decode words, setting them up for success in literacy.

About Mr. Martin
Mr. Martin completed his education in Switzerland at the University of Lausanne, after studying for two years at the University of Kent in England. He holds a double major in English and French culture and literature. Over the past ten years, he has taught French, German, and English across four different countries. His career brought him to Japan, where he became the head teacher at prestigious schools in Tokyo, designing, implementing, and overseeing preschool curricula and after-school programs.
A strong advocate for the role of art in fostering creativity and personal growth, Mr. Martin incorporates artistic expression into his teaching philosophy. His enthusiasm and genuine warmth towards students create a positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the school.
